Love of wine led Brigitte and Serge to Avignon to study viticulture-oenology and it is there that they met. To deepen their knowledge, they then decided to work for a year in Serge's family's vineyard in the Côte de Rhone.

Then they set up on their own but prudently, after some reflection. They bought their first vineyard in 1997 at Sainte Colombe, near Case de Pène. He was captivated by the beauty of the landscape surrounding the village, the birthplace of his partner, and she was homesick for her beautiful childhood roots. So they settled in.

Serge was appointed chief winemaker at Mas Amiel while Brigitte worked there in the vines, looking after their own at the same time. The he changed jobs, taking charge of the Clos des Fées in Vingrau.
This experience was beneficial to them. They bought still more vines, more than 3ha of Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah at Case de Pène and more than 2ha with Muscat and Carignan at Vingrau and they were rewarded with their first vintage.

• These five grape varieties, spread out over two different communes, with different soils and expositions are what give the final product such complexity. This, with a high quality of work procedures and a calculated, programmed harvest are the reasons for its brilliant success. The quality is refined even more by the way the grapes are grown: gobelet-style pruning allows the vine to age more rapidly and ploughing, partly by mules, plays its role.
