The Domain
Lying back from the Roussillon plain, the Maury terroir benefits from a geology (schist and argilo-calcareous) which allows it to create robust wines of exceptional taste.
The Maury wines from the Domain come from vines situated in the heart of the commune of Maury.
The Domain also owns vines in Latour de France Appelation, a part of which were planted in 1901. They produce a red wine of rare complexity.
Paul, the grandfather, was born in 1909. A pioneer of Maury and a tireless defender of the legislation for A.O.C., he celebrated his 80th grape harvest in October 2000.
Robert, the grandson and present owner of the Domain, is carrying on the tradition with a growing program close to nature, respecting the soil, biological diversity and the ecosystem.

A certain idea of Maury
Maury are powerful wines which lend themselves to a long oxidative maturing process. But when they are young, with their black and red fruit balance, the delicacy of the tannins and the aromatic fragrance, they are a real revelation.
One grape variety is identified with Maury: the Grenache noir, capricious, low yield, it guarantees us the quality of Maury and it represents 100% of our vines.

The wine is bottled in the June following the harvest and goes on maturing slowly. This is how the vintage "Vendange" is produced. "Vendange Mise Tardive" is matured in wood in an air-conditioned cellar to regulate as well as possible the oxidization process. The "Hors d'âge" is a "Vendange" which has matured in its time, concentrating its aromas and smoothing out the tannins while maturing in a bottle.
Maturing in glass demi-johns in the open air is possible for certain vintages.
• Top quality Côtes de Roussillon
Grenache noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan from different terroirs of black schist, friable schist or argilo-calcareous, vinified separately or together produce red wines matured in casks, full of fruit, robust with great aromatic complexity.
